ABOUT US

Founded in 2015, by Eric J. Mutaawe, NGABI emerged from the vibrant, creative undercurrents of the afro-asian streetwear scenes of Xi'an, carving a niche for itself as an authentic voice in urban fashion. Named after the iconic “Ngabi” (antelope), a symbol of strength and grace in Buganda culture, NGABI captures the energy and resilience of Afro and Black communities worldwide. Our brand is a celebration of African roots intertwined with global black influences, paying homage to the diverse yet unified heritage that drives Black culture across continents. We are proud to create apparel that not only reflects the past but pushes forward into the future, blending tradition with bold, modern aesthetics.

Over the years, NGABI has thrived as an underground sensation, earning respect within Afro-Asian streetwear communities for its distinct style and cultural depth. Each piece tells a story of heritage and pride, a nod to the shared experiences of Black and African people across the globe. We draw inspiration from everything that shapes Afro-diasporic identity—from the vibrant street markets of Kampala and Lagos to the bustling cityscapes of Tokyo and New York. Our clothing is more than just fashion; it’s a canvas for cultural expression and a celebration of a resilient legacy that lives and breathes within every stitch and print.

Now, after seven years in the shadows, NGABI returns to the world stage with the MMXV Collection—a limited-edition release marking our fifth collection since 2015. This capsule collection revives our original ethos and reimagines it for a new generation, staying true to our roots while evolving to meet the demands of today’s streetwear aficionados. The MMXV Collection is more than just a relaunch; it’s a statement of resilience, identity, and unity, representing a global movement grounded in the heritage and future of Black culture.
